MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
Sensis Agency
CREATIVE DIRECTION, ART DIRECTION, BRANDING
The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is a U.S. government agency that operates under the Department of Commerce. Its mission is to promote the growth and competitiveness of minority-owned businesses in the United States. The agency provides various services, programs, and resources to support the establishment and expansion of minority-owned businesses.
The project was undertaken to realign the MBDA's brand with President Obama's objectives of boosting the national economy and enhancing global competitiveness for minority-owned businesses. With the launch fortuitously coinciding with the agency's 40th anniversary, it added an extra layer of significance to the rebranding effort.
Ultimately, the project successfully revitalized the brand, elevating its image and supporting its mission to empower and promote minority entrepreneurship.

MBDA UPDATED LOGO
MBDA's updated logo embodies simplicity and legibility, using bold shapes and colors to form an upward-trending graph within the letter "M." This vibrant design symbolizes unity, progress, and diversity in the minority business community, aligning with MBDA's mission of collaboration and inclusivity.
To support the rebranding effort, a comprehensive Brand Identity Style Guide and assets such as letterheads, business cards, and print collateral were created to showcase the refreshed brand and align with the overall rebranding strategy. These tools would also help ensure consistency across all MBDA Regional Offices nationwide.
Through this comprehensive approach, MBDA achieved a cohesive and impactful rebranding, encompassing both conceptual elements and practical implementation across various touchpoints. The result is a visually compelling brand that reflects the agency's mission and resonates with its target audience.
